CD Studio: Motion Graphics | Spring 2023
January 19—May 11

Parsons School of Design | The New School
This course explores the fundamentals of time-based motion graphics, with particular emphasis on typography, image, and narrative sequence. Students work towards the development of motion-based projects that activate the screen and synthesize type, image, sound, video, and animation. Although technical proficiency is a goal, the primary aims of this course are to develop concise yet powerful presentations of literal and abstract ideas and to practice the development process from storyboarding to final rendering. Students are encouraged to explore different methods of storytelling and to develop a motion-based vocabulary in order to author visual and narrative forms.
